About the Parks and Open Space Master Plan:
The Parks and Open Space Master Plan is being supported by a grant from the National Recreation and Parks Association’s 10-Minute Walk Grant Initiative (we were one of ten communities nationwide selected for this funding) and began in October 2019. Through a series of in-person meetings, historical data/plans reviews, and site visits to our facilities, the landscape architecture firm Omnes (who is contracted to write the Plan) has worked with City staff, local residents, and partner agencies to draft a slate of proposed improvements to Winooski’s various parks and natural areas.
