The City of Winooski is excited to announce that our marketing/branding and website re-development initiatives have been successfully completed – implementation of which has begun.
The City worked closely with Engage Strategies, a marketing and branding firm based in Washington, D.C., with previous clients such as The National Parks Service, The Montana Office of Tourism, The Nature Conservancy, and more. Their approach included months of direct public outreach, guiding the following deliverables:
A revised City Seal maintains the historical and cultural relevance of our previous seal while adopting a modern look to match our Legacy Campaign logo. The Legacy Campaign, which will begin in the coming months, celebrates our new brand story which will be used to highlight community members who exemplify Winooski leading up to the City’s 100 year anniversary in 2022:
The City of Winooski: Vermont's Opportunity City
“For almost 100 years, Winooski has welcomed strivers - people looking to build a better life for themselves and their families. We’re a small city where neighbors know each other. We’re a city where all of our kids learn together, play together, and grow together. We’re a community where everyone can participate in city government, in neighborhood gatherings, and in our lively downtown. We’re always striving to improve our city and to welcome our next new neighbors.”
Our new website has transitioned from winooskivt.org to winooskivt.gov. The City worked directly with CivicPlus, a municipal government website provider who specializes in municipally focused services with hundreds of local government clients in all 50 states. In addition to the .gov web address, staff and council emails will also be transitioned to .gov addresses.
The new website includes:
Sites for the Winooski Police Department (winooskipolice.com) and the Winooski Memorial (winooskilibrary.wordpress.com) will be taken down as they are now incorporated into their departmental sections on winooskivt.gov (Public Safety for Police, Community Services for the Library). In the coming months, new functions such as online forms, online payments (taxes, bills, etc.), and a Public Works request tracker will be included.
The City of Winooski would like to sincerely thank Engage Strategies and CivicPlus for working with us to successfully complete these initiatives.
